Small Download, Local App Control
Free App Lock is a lightweight Windows 11/10 x64 tool for controlling selected desktop applications. Add the exact executable, choose password approval or direct denial, optionally set a weekly schedule and SHA-256 identity check, and review local activity without creating an account.
Important boundary: this is an after-start, per-user convenience control. Windows starts the target before Free App Lock detects and closes it, so early code or side effects may occur. A person or process with the same Windows-user authority can stop or bypass the monitor. For enforced organizational security, use Windows App Control or AppLocker with a properly reviewed deployment.
Compact framework-dependent installer
The installer requires Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime 8 x64. If it is missing, setup offers Microsoft’s official runtime and can download it automatically during silent installation. Free App Lock itself uses no account, ads, telemetry, cloud policy store, driver, Windows service, DLL injection, or hidden persistence.
