Follow Instructions for the Edition That Protected Your File
Version 8.1.0 records local NTFS permissions for selected EXE files. Earlier website articles may describe another release, an encryption mode, a context-menu action, an attached password prompt or a reset feature. Do not infer that those methods are present in this edition.
For Historical Encrypted Data
Keep your original software, password and backups. The current manager is not a decoder or migration tool for historical encrypted files. An 8.1.0 recovery kit contains permission records; it does not convert old formats.
Historical recovery tools are retained separately from today’s installer:
- Legacy original package
- Legacy setup package
- Original old-version address
- Historical setupfiles package
These downloads preserve historical software for people who need their earlier edition. They are not alternative 8.1.0 installers.
For a Forgotten Password
The 8.1.0 encrypted vault and exported kits require their matching password. A previous web article about local reset does not create a reset path for this vault. Preserve the records and backups while determining which release was used.
For Games, Right-Click Menus and Launch Problems
Use the current manager’s file selection and restoration controls. This edition does not promise every launcher component is covered, does not install a password popup into the target and does not diagnose every Windows launch failure. Use the current handbook for the supported workflow.
